About

My name is Shelby Espiritu and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I started my career in a psychiatric hospital, supporting individuals, couples, and families through their most challenging moments in their lives. I have training and experience working with patients with fertility challenges, complicated pregnancies, postpartum, infant and child loss, dual diagnosis and substance use challenges, severe depression and anxiety, older adults through aging related issues, and eating disorders.

I employ a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach while incorporating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Client Centered Therapy. My goal is to be a team with you, combining my clinical knowledge with your expertise of your life, to create meaningful change. I also am currently in the process of gaining my PMH-C.

My goals are to assist you in identifying the problem area(s) that are keeping you stuck, work collaboratively with you to identify your goal(s), and then guide you in the necessary work to make changes throughout your life to achieve your goals. I am committed to working with you to accomplish the goals you have for yourself in order for you to live the more full and fulfilled life that you deserve.

Finally, I am an AAMFT approved supervisor, and enjoy greatly the opportunity to supervisor and guide new clinicians in the field.
